Eligibility: Annmarie Garden seeks artists working in any media to submit proposals to set up a working studio space in the Main Gallery for 1-2 week periods. These studios will be set up much like a "booth," utilizing the artist's own supplies and equipment. Artists are required to work in their studios for a total of 35 hrs/week, demonstrating their processes and techniques to curious visitors. Artists will also be given space to hang artwork for sale within the gallery for the duration of their studio time. Artists must be willing to speak with visitors informally about their work and their process. Overnight accommodations for out-of-town artists are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. For the final weekend, participating artists are invited to hang their artwork in the gallery space for a Valentine's weekend show and sale and closing reception.

8강 - 형태잡기 / 2단계 명암표현

1. 형태잡기

초보자인 경우 형태를 정확하게 잡아내는것이 쉽지 않은 일입니다.
형태를 정확히 잡아낼수 있기 까지는 많은 연습과 정확한 눈을 키워나아가기 위한 부단한
노력이 필요합니다.

제가 자주쓰는 방법중 하나는 형태를 한번 바라본후 잠시동안 눈을 감고 그 잔상을 기억해 보는겁니다.그리고 그려진 그림과 비교해 보면 잘못 그려진 부분들이 들어나기 시작하지요....

 하지만, 그 역시도 훈련이 필요 하답니다.
그래서 이번에는 아래의 그림과 같이 Viewfinder를 사용해 보시길 추천 드립니다.
직접 만들어 쓰셔도 되고 Art Supply(미술용품) 파는곳에 가시면 쉽게 구입하실 수 있읍니다.

 

 

  Viewfinder의 원리는 간단 합니다.

 

    

 위와같이 보여지는 풍경이나 사물을 마치 창문에서 바라보는것 처럼 Viewfinder 를 통해  관찰 하는것이죠.Viewfinder 의 Grid 를 참고로 스케치북 위에 Grid 선을 같은 비례로 긋고 Grid 를 기준으로 관찰되어진
대상을 옮겨보는 거지요.

 

 2. 2단계 명암표현

이제 밑그림이 정확하게 그려졌다면 명암을 넣어줘야 하는데, 명암의 표현에 있어 가장 기본이 되는
2단계 명암표현 에 대해 이야기 해 보겠습니다. 2단계 명암표현 이란 용어는 제가 임의로 만든용어
이기 때문에 많은 사람들이 사용하지는 않습니다. 제가 말하는 2단계 명암표현이란 말은 사물의 명암을
단순화시켜 흑 과 백, 다시 말해 어두움과 밝음의 딱 두가지 만으로 명암을 표현 한다는 것 입니다.

 그동안 학생들을 지도해온 경험상 아주 효과적인 학습 방법이었다고 생각되어서 소개 합니다.
말하자면 이런 겁니다. 중간톤은 생략하고 아래의 그림과 같이 어두움의 형태만을 찾아내는 것이죠.

 

   

  

 

간단하게 두개의 단계로만 표현된 그림이지만, 대상을 이해하는데 아무런 문제가 없지요?대상의 명암을 이렇게 요약해서 바라보는 연습은 나중에 다양한 명암으로 좀더자실적인
명암을 표현하기위한 단단한 기초가 될것입니다.
